Talk to salesAir freight questions, answered
How is air freight priced?
Air freight is priced on chargeable weight: the greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight, where volume converts at the IATA ratio of 1:6000 cm³/kg (167 kg per cubic metre). AirScanner resolves chargeable weight from your pieces, weight and dimensions before showing a rate, then breaks out fuel and security surcharges as separate line items.
What is an air waybill (AWB) number?
An AWB number is 11 digits: a 3-digit airline prefix, an 8-digit serial whose last digit is a mod-7 check digit. 235-12345675 is an example. The prefix identifies the issuing airline, so a valid AWB always resolves to a carrier.
Can I track a house air waybill (HAWB)?
Yes. Consolidations are tracked at master AWB level for the flight legs, and at house level for the individual shipment inside the consolidation. Both views are linked from the shipment page.
Which special-handling cargo can I book?
General cargo and ULD pivot bookings, express and charter, plus special-handling products: perishables, CEIV-certified pharma lanes, IATA DGR dangerous goods, live animals under IATA LAR, valuables, and heavy or outsize pieces that need a freighter.
