Track an air waybill
Start with the number itself. Most "shipment not found" problems are a typo, and the AWB check digit is designed to catch exactly that.
3-digit airline prefix + 8-digit serial. Separators are ignored.
The milestones a shipment reports
11 IATA Cargo-IMP status codes, in the order they normally occur. This is the vocabulary every carrier portal uses, so it is worth knowing which code means "you can collect it".
At origin
Tendered, accepted and manifested onto a flight.- FOH Freight on hand Shipment tendered by the shipper or forwarder at the origin terminal.
- RCS Received from shipper Cargo accepted by the airline; AWB is live and screening is complete.
- MAN Manifested Assigned to a specific flight and ULD position.
In the air
Departed, arrived, and any transfer along the way.- DEP Departed Flight has departed the origin airport.
- ARR Arrived Flight has arrived at a transit or destination airport.
- TFD Transferred Cargo transferred to another carrier or connecting flight.

Frequently asked
Why does my AWB return nothing on the airline site?
Usually because the number is wrong. An 11-digit AWB carries a check digit — the 7-digit serial modulo 7 — so a transposed pair of digits produces a number that cannot exist. Validate it here first; if the check fails, re-read it from the waybill rather than chasing the airline.
What do the status codes mean?
They are IATA Cargo-IMP milestones. RCS means the airline has accepted the cargo, MAN that it is manifested on a flight, DEP departed, ARR arrived, RCF received from the flight at destination, NFD that the consignee has been notified, and DLV delivered. Nothing moves backwards, so the newest code tells you where it is.
Can I track a house air waybill?
A HAWB is the forwarder’s own number for one shipment inside a consolidation, so it is tracked through the forwarder, while the flight legs move under the master AWB. If you have both, the master tells you where the aircraft is and the house tells you which part of the consolidation is yours.
When will live tracking work here?
When the carrier status integration is live. Until then this page validates the number and identifies the issuing airline so you can go straight to the right carrier — and it will not invent a timeline in the meantime.
